Here is a little information about my professional history.... My name is Karen Pasquel, I love working with children and have a lot of teaching experience. I am an elementary school teacher and dance instructor with Pennsylvania Instructional II certification in elementary education and as a reading specialist. I have a Master's degree in Education and Reading from East Stroudsburg University. I have 10 years experience in an inclusive classroom setting and a background in the performing arts. I've also been involved with parent education workshops, student and cooperative teaching, and curriculum development.
Currently I am the assistant manager and a dance instructor at Dance Plus, Inc. in Nazareth, an area performing arts school. I teach young children's and special needs dance classes at Dance Plus. In the past I worked as assistant director, choreographer, and performer in "The Movement" Liturgical Christian Dance Troupe. Our Liturgical Troupe presented workshops, dance presentations, and were featured artists at many Lehigh Valley Christian Events and many area churches. I enjoy working with children and have implemented the new community presentation and service group,The Movement CARES, and I am the author of an article published in the January 2006 issue of Dance Teacher Magazine. This article focuses on the use of educational curriculum within the dance and movement settings.
