Thanks for stopping by! Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am an elementary school teacher with Pennsylvania Instructional II certification in elementary education and as a reading specialist. I enjoy teaching children and have over 15 years experience with the Pleasant Valley and the Easton Area School Districts, in both an inclusive classroom and pullout settings, using a guided reading and writing approach, working with the Reading Recovery program, working with research based reading intervention programs, incorporating remedial and enrichment math instruction based on NCTM standards, working collaboratively with the Response To Intervention Data Team (RtI), and a background in the performing arts. I believe that education should encompass a differentiated approach and involve the family and community. I have helped develop parent education workshops, worked with student and cooperative teachers, assisted with grade level data teams, and assisted in curriculum development.
I also have experience as the assistant manager and as an instructor at an area performing arts school,Dance Plus, Inc. Through a nonprofit group, Children Helping Children, Inc., I have implemented a new community presentation and service group called The Movement C.A.R.E.S., which focuses on youth education, movement, dance, and choosing a healthy lifestyle. Our mission and program objectives can be found on The Movement CARES link. I authored an article integrating elementary curriculum objectives into dance and movement. This article was published in the January 2006 issue of Dance Teacher Magazine-a nationally recognized magazine for dance educators. I have also remained current with educational standards through continuing education coursework including grant writing, building basic websites using html, classroom internet use, and integrating computer technology. During the summer I teach reading and writing support classes at Northampton Community College. An example of my summer program can be viewed by clicking the link below. I created this link to help parents fully understand what we were doing in the classroom and to offer suggestions to continue summer reading at home. I currently teach at Tracy Elementary in Easton. You can view my personal classroom site by going to www.eastonsd.org, click on school, Tracy, classrooms, then my name.
This webpage and the subsequent links in the table below, were all created after I completed the course, "Building Basic Websites Using Html" in 2006. I enjoyed this class tremendously and learned to apply many new strategies and techniques using only html codes. No authoring programs were used to build these pages. Although all the sites are linked to this home page, I consider them to be sites of their own. Some were created as legitimate business and promotional sites, and function as such. I linked them to demonstrate the variety of techniques and concepts I learned in this course. Please be sure to try each link in the table below. My site creations are diverse, encompassing a spectrum of topics and allow me to use a variety of ideas. I hope you enjoy the results of my efforts. Feel free to provide feedback.
